Over the last 24 hours, Iraq has seemed to descend back
into a state of chaos. Numerous car bombs have gone off killing at least 152
people and there have been reports of mortar fire within the well fortified
green zone.

Al Qaeda has laid claim to the latest attacks via their
website. They are calling for the attacks because of the U.S. offensive underway
at the Syrian border.

With the constitution election one month away, we can be
certain this is only the beginning of what is going to be an extremely bloody
period in Iraq’s history. The attacks are reportedly being aimed at the Shiite
population which also lends further proof to these attacks being triggered by
the upcoming elections.
