Bush has done another large round of recess appointments. Included in the
list is Julie Myers which has sparked some outrage by conservatives such as
Michele Malkin. It
is being coined as the latest in Bush’s cronyism. Myers has been appointed to
head the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement under Homeland Security.

Myers — the niece of former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Gen. Richard
Myers and wife of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff’s Chief of
Staff, John Wood — has faced some bipartisan opposition. Myers also worked
as Chertoff’s chief of staff briefly.
