The Republicans are getting called on their continuous rubber stamping for Bush (Christy has the details).

What is amazing is the rubber stamp works both ways on this. Not only does Congress use their rubber stamp for Bush, but Bush also uses his rubber stamp for congress. Bush has yet to veto anything. This is the first time in history a two term President has not used his powers of veto and the first time a President has not used the power since Garfield.

What it all amounts to is that we have no checks and balances in our government right now. We get a little bit of it from the judicial branch, but as soon as they exercise it then they get attacked by the other branches. This practice is becoming a great danger to the delicate balance of power our government depends upon. Of course if the Democrats end up taking over this fall then I imagine Bush will be breaking out his veto pen.
