He sure doesn’t like being told what is legal and illegal:

President Bush on Friday criticized a federal court ruling that said his warrantless wiretapping program is unconstitutional, declaring that opponents “do not understand the nature of the world in which we live.”

“I strongly disagree with that decision, strongly disagree,” Bush said, striking his finger on a podium to underscore his point. “That’s why I instructed the Justice Department to appeal immediately, and I believe our appeals will be upheld.”

Wait!!! We “do not understand the nature of the world in which we live”? No Bush – you don’t understand the laws of the country in which you live.

Ok continue on:

“If al-Qaida is calling in to the United States, we want to know why they’re calling,” Bush said.

OOPS. Stop again. Sure we want to know who they are calling. Since reports put the number of calls intercepted in the tens of millions, it looks like al Qaeda is either a) a lot larger than anyone ever imagined or B) spending more time talking on the phone which means less time causing terrorism. What ever the case may be, with the shear number of calls we intercept that are suppose to be “al Qaeda” calls, it should be easy as hell to go and catch them.

Now what did the judge say about all of this?

The judge said the government, in defending the program, appeared to be saying the president had the “inherent power” to violate laws of Congress.

“It was never the intent of the framers to give the president such unfettered control,” Taylor wrote in a 43-page opinion. “… There are no hereditary Kings in America and no powers not created by the Constitution. So all ‘inherent powers’ must derive from that Constitution.”

Exactly. We have this thing called a constitution and if Bush wants to change that then he has to do this thing called an amendment. He is working so hard to become the king of this nation and that will not be allowed to happen. Cheney and Rumsfeld are keys in this as they have always pushed for imperial powers for the President and that is the gravest danger our nation would face. Everyone of them should be kicked the fuck right out of America.
