Iraq’s involvement in 9/11 – none

WMDs found in Iraq – zero

Saddam’s ties to terrorism – zilch

Number of terrorists created from Iraq war – a shit load.

These are the facts that have come out from Bush’s own spy agencies. Everything we have been fed by the Bush administration these past 3+ years has been nothing but absolute lies. Bush had a personal hatred for Saddam Hussein and that hatred made him blind to the bigger enemy against our country – Osama bin Laden. While we have had our military focused in Iraq, the Taliban has re-emerged as a strong force in Afghanistan and now we hear that the war has also increased radical Islamists. This means all the lives lost, that Bush referees to as a “comma”, have been caused in a big part by a massively failed foreign policy.

Some highlighted quotes regarding this tragic report:

  • “Press reports say our nation’s intelligence services have confirmed that President Bush’s repeated missteps in Iraq and his stubborn refusal to change course have made America less safe,” said Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid. “No election-year White House PR campaign can hide this truth.” (ap)
  • Rep. Jane Harman of California, the senior Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said she agreed that the Iraq war had caused the spread of jihadist ideology. “Every intelligence analyst I speak to confirms that,” she said on CNN’s “Late Edition.”

“And that is why … the best military commission proposal in the world and even capturing the remaining top al Qaeda leadership isn’t going to prevent copycat cells, and it isn’t going to change a failed policy in Iraq,” she said. “This administration is trying to change the subject. I don’t think voters are going to buy that.” (Reuters)

  • Senator Arlen Specter, the Pennsylvania Republican who is chairman of the Judiciary Committee, acknowledged on CNN that “the war in Iraq has intensified Islamic fundamentalism and radicalism,” although he added “that’s a problem that nobody seems to have an answer to.” (NY Times)
  • “The National Intelligence Estimate provides jarring confirmation that the disastrous policy in Iraq is a giant recruiting poster for terrorists,” Senator John Kerry, Democrat of Massachusetts, said in a statement. (NY Times)
  • “Unfortunately this report is just confirmation that the Bush administration’s stay-the-course approach to the Iraq war has not just made the war more difficult and more deadly for our troops, but has also made the war on terror more dangerous for every American,” said Rep. Rahm Emanuel, head of the Democratic effort to take control of the House. (AP)

The Bush administration is of course trying to spin this off as being inaccurate reporting by the New York Times, a really big shocker there. The fact is that this report only gave more evidence to what most on the left have been saying for months, if not years – Iraq is increasing terrorism. It doesn’t take some Middle East expert to figure that out. Osama switched from being our ally to being our foe because he felt “the infidel (us) would enter the holy land and never leave”. So how did we respond? We turned Osama from being just a terrorist, to being a prophet to many of these people. We are in the holy land and there is no sign of us leaving.
