Bush and Ed Henry from CNN just had an interesting exchange regarding the roadside bombs. Henry was simply looking for more concrete evidence to the claim Iran is supplying the bombs in Iraq. Bush responds with:

Isn’t that what got us into Iraq in the first place? What is preposterous is to think that Bush would present actual intelligence.
Something else sticks out regarding this entire “Iran bomb” fiasco. The proof the administration is using is that the bombs are coming from the Qud army, which is part of the Iranian government. Well do we have proof these are coming from the Qud army, or is it coming from some rogue people in the army?
How can we use this information to condemn an entire army, let alone an entire nation? If this is the logic then what prevents people from going after us because the U.S. Army killed innocent people in Haditha? How about what happened at Abu Gharib? Our defense, rightfully so, is that these were rogue soldiers operating outside the chain of command that did this. Their actions were not sanctioned by the military or the country. Instead they did what they did on their own and have paid the price.
So shouldn’t we make sure this isn’t what’s happening in Iran? When it comes to intelligence, this administration has lost all credibility. Even the senior brass of the military refuses to back up Bush’s latest claims. Perhaps it is time for Congress to put a muzzle on Bush before he does talk us into another war.
