We have known for a long time that Matthews is goo-goo over McCain. I keep waiting for him to whip it out and rub one off every time he talks about McCain, but today he took this wild man love even a step further:

MATTHEWS: I think there are ways to end it if we had a great leader perhaps, I’m not sure we have on the horizon, maybe it is McCain – to find a way – maybe we should elect a Republican in order to get us out of the war because irony seems to be a better bet than what we’ve gotten.

Yeah let the man who said he wouldn’t mind if we were there 100 years get us out. That’s really smart Tweety! Perhaps we should start a collection to buy Tweety a John McCain blow up doll.
