Depending on where you look, the population of this country that identifies themselves as Atheist, or as a non-believer is between 15% and 25%. So why do we have an invocation at government event anyways? In my dream America, we would get to the point where we don’t have such things. Instead let religion be a private thing, and something 100% separate from our government.

I don’t agree with Rick Warren and believe he is slime for preaching intolerance towards a segment of our population (though he isn’t as bas as most of the big mouth pieces on religion), but I also think that a larger portion of this country is being insulted by the presence of any invocation at all. Maybe it’s time to rethink the whole thing.
