I’ve been thinking about California maybe legalizing marijuana and I had an interesting thought. Would that mean I could have a friend in California buy some then mail it to me? On the surface you would think not, but then lets think further about it. By not letting me do that then states would be interfering with interstate commerce, and that’s something the Supreme Court has generally frowned upon in the past.

Now if that interstate commerce claim stands up, what would that mean? Well basically every state would somewhat be forced to legalize marijuana. This is a great thing. If California goes the route of legalizing it, then we can expect to see other states follow. And by losing this idiotic form of prohibition we would see a product enter the pipeline that can generate awesome tax revenue. So what are we waiting for?
