I just read this on Think Progress:

“These individuals came all the way from Southeast Texas to protest the excessive spending and growing government intrusion by the 111th Congress and the new Obama administration,” Brady wrote. “These participants, whose tax dollars were used to create and maintain this public transit system, were frustrated and disappointed that our nation’s capital did not make a great effort to simply provide a basic level of transit for them.”

A spokesman for Brady says that “there weren’t enough cars and there weren’t enough trains.” Brady tweeted as much from the Saturday march. “METRO did not prepare for Tea Party March! More stories. People couldn’t get on, missed start of march. I will demand answers from Metro,” he wrote on Twitter.

Now let me see if I can get this straight. Tea baggers are complaining about “socialism”, and some how they can muster up enough gumption to complain when socialistic services aren’t adequate enough for them?

It all boils down to selfishness. The teabaggers aren’t worried about the greater good, but only things that directly effect their lives in the presence. Forget the fact that a robust health care bill with a strong public option will eventually give them more money – that’s too far in the future. They are only worried about the now, and about something directly effecting them.

This can only be described as a mental illness – a sickness that makes them more worthy than anyone else. It also reminds me of something that happened last year. An acquaintance of mine had a baby. Neither parent had insurance, so they relied upon “socialized” programs to cover the cost of pre-natal care, the birth and the child, even to this day as the child approaches a year old. They were very open to accepting the programs and free hand outs – never batted an eye. Interesting enough, both of them also support the tea baggers. They don’t think the government should help people, well except them when they needed it.

Forget all the talk about racism and hatred motivating teabaggers. The only motivation they need is a total sense of selfishness and feeling that they are more deserving than their own neighbors. I just wonder how many of them try to call themselves Christian with this belief?
