The monthly ratings are getting ready to come out and the death spiral of CNN is continuing in a tragic way. They will now be in 4th placed, right behind their own Headline News.

Probably one of the most interesting tidbits hidden in this article is the fact that Lou Dobbs is in last place behind HLN. Right before HLN is Hardball, which is always a repeat of the 5:00 hour.

If I were an executive at CNN or even a stockholder, then I would be really troubled by this trend. CNN is doing nothing to reverse it. A good starting point to turn things around would be to drop Dobbs and Brown and bring in some fresh talent. Perhaps its also time to look at having Larry King retire.
