I thought the Tea Party was all about liberty and freedom? Wouldn’t that also mean the freedom to keep you alleged sexuality private? Apparently not:

William Gheen, head of the conservative, anti-“amnesty,” anti-illegal immigration group Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), spoke at a Greenville, S.C. Tea Party rally this weekend and called for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) to “come out of that log cabin closet.”

According to Gheen, being gay is “a secret that Lindsey Graham has.”

Gheen told the crowd: “I hope this secret isn’t being used as leverage over Senator Graham, so today I think Senator Graham, you need to come forward and tell people about your alternative lifestyle and your homosexuality.”

Will all the conservatives, who constantly cry about privacy when some right winger is outed as being gay or has an affair exposed, demand the tea baggers respect the privacy of Lindsey Graham?

This is just another look behind the curtain that hides the hate that powers the tea party movement. As matter of fact that hate was very evident, but has now been hidden:

ALIPAC has posted the video titled “US Senator Graham is Gay” on YouTube, where various news outlets have covered it.

At one point, the video contained the tags “queer” and “fag,” which Gheen told HuffPost were the result of a hacked YouTube account. When Gheen was informed of the keywords, he replaced them with less incendiary language.

This has become a constant defense of the right. When their website goes down it’s because they are being attacked by the left. Now when a video proves the point of the left, it’s because their YouTube account was hacked. Is being truthful such a hard accomplishment for these people?

So today we have more of the intolerance of the tea party exposed, while also exposing the depths they will go to in order to hide their hatred of people that might be different from them. Anyone who thinks this movement is “healthy” for the country is living in a very different time – a time when white people thought owning black people was perfectly acceptable. You are haters. Get over it and admit it, then we can go on and honestly debate how you are a danger to the country.
