When Will Hillary Clinton Denounce Wendell Pierce And Ed Rendell?
Over the past few days there has been an onslaught of calls for Bernie Sanders to denounce actions of his supporters. But what about the actions of some higher profile supporters of Hillary Clinton's?
Since the contentious Nevada Democratic Convention this weekend pundits and media types alike have non-stopped called for Bernie Sanders to denounce the actions of his supporters. But during that same time, two other stories of gone pretty much unnoticed.
First off is the story of star of The Wire, Wendell Pierce. Pierce, a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton’s had an altercation this weekend with a Sanders supporter inside an Atlanta hotel that ended with Pierce being charged with battery:
An Atlanta Police Department report released Monday said the woman who alleged the assault had told authorities Pierce pushed her, hit her in the head and ripped the hood off of her sweatshirt after “a conversation about politics which got Mr. Pierce upset.”
The report said Pierce told police the woman tried to pull him into her room and he was trying to get away.
But when news of this broke, Clinton supporters quickly started questioning what the woman may have said to cause Pierce to act like this. Hmm, blaming the woman first?
Then yesterday we got some interesting words from former Pennsylvania Governor and DNC chair, Ed Rendell, which when talking about Trump’s woman problem offered this little analysis:
“For every one he’ll lose one and a half, two Republican women. Trump’s comments like, ‘You can’t be a 10 if you’re flat-chested,’ that’ll come back to haunt him. There are probably more ugly women in America than attractive women. People take that stuff personally.”
So we’re a country of ugly women? Really????
With two such high profile incidents as this, you would expect Clinton to be out there quickly distancing herself from these two. Instead we have radio silence.
You have one case of a man allegedly assaulting a woman and another man essentially saying we’re a country of ugly women, and Clinton remains silent. I thought she was a fighter for women? Yet we have her overlooking some hideous attacks on women from two of her friends and supporters. I guess that’s to be expected from a person that attacked the victim of her own husband’s sexual harassment.
