This is a great democracy – where your opponent can decide if your allowed to vote or not:

A challenge of Democratic U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland’s residency that would keep him from voting Election Day has been sent to his rival in the governor’s race: Secretary of State Ken Blackwell.

The challenge filed by Jacquelyn Long, a registered Democrat who supports Republican Blackwell for governor, alleged that Strickland does not actually live at the Lisbon address where he is registered to vote in his eastern Ohio congressional district.

Long, of East Liverpool, contends that Strickland and his wife, Frances, only rent the apartment over his congressional offices and have declared permanent residency for tax purposes in their condominium in Columbus. A determination against the Stricklands would prevent them from voting Nov. 7.

I don’t care if it was a Democrat Secretary of State and a Republican challenger running for the same seat. The Secretary of State should not be allowed to make such a decision. There should be back up plans in place for such situations that allow for a 3rd party that is not interested to make the decision. Perhaps we will go to a new justice system also – trial by victim.
