Associated Press
that the search for a Supreme Court nominee has greatly
accelerated and could come as early as today. The article also states that
President Bush could very well be looking at appointing a female to the court.

A quick decision by the President on this important issue should come as no
surprise. The President is saying he wants to get the conformations moving along
so that we can have a justice seated by the time the court reconvenes in
October. This makes logical sense, but could there be another reasoning behind
this rapid acceleration in looking for someone to fill the vacancy in our
highest court?

The Bush White House has been the center of controversy the last week. The
decision process the President is going through has been greatly overshadowed by
the growing scandal revolving around Karl Rove. The President seems to be
stepping up his search for a nomination in order to bring another news story to
the front pages. This White House is known for its manipulation of headlines.
Karl Rove is the master behind that. The fact that this report is coming from an
anonymous source inside the White House, where anonymous sources is a bad
subject right now, really leaves one to wonder if that could be the reason.

Ah yes, polls are down. People think the White House is covering something up
or not cooperating with the grand jury investigation. Karl Rove and George Bush
are both feeling the heat from the reporters breathing down their necks, wanting
answers about Karl Roves involvement in ousting a CIA agent. What a better way
to cool things down than to shift the short attention span of the American
people to something else controversial. It would not shock me one bit to see a
person who leans to the extreme right get the nomination. The name Priscilla
Owens is coming to mind!
