Taliban rebels have killed 19 police officers in a convoy down a dirt road in
the Helman province. Included amongst the dead officers is the deputy chief.

Attention seems to focus more on the Iraq war than what is taking place in
Afghanistan. This is somewhat troubling. Last month, Afghans held a vote, which
should of been a highly publicized event for the administration. It never got
that much attention.

The few reports that actually came out following the election raised concern
of election fraud and low turn out. This gives cause to worry about the actual
security of Afghanistan and if the Taliban is truly weakened. Only time will
tell.
