Here’s some interesting dirt on Michael Steele:

According to two knowledgeable sources, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele once raised the possibility of using party money to buy a private jet for his travel.

“I know that … regular ongoing use of planes was something that was looked at,” says one person with direct knowledge. “I can’t speak to how serious those inquiries were.” Both sources say Steele considered purchasing a plane outright, or buying fractional ownership in one, through a company such as NetJets.

Oh but it gets even better. The article goes on to highlight some of the expenses Steele has charged on the RNC’s dime. All of these are from FEC filings:

  • $9,099 for a stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel
  • $6,596 at Four Seasons
  • $1,946 Voyeur West Hollywood – a bondage themed nightclub complete with topless dancers imitating lesbian sex.
  • Midwinter Hawaii trip $43,828

The Voyeur gets me. Isn’t he afraid that the lesbian sex will lead to people marrying their dogs?

On a serious note – anyone who gives to the RNC should seriously ask for their money back, well that is unless you actually consider this fiscal responsibility.
