This country has a renegade law enforcement officer. He is one that is under constant investigation by the federal government and his own state. On the very day President Obama announced his executive order limiting the deportation of young, illegal immigrants, Joe Arpaio decided to ignore it:

Maricopa County Sheriff Office deputies arrested a 6-year-old suspected illegal immigrant Friday, the day President Barack Obama softened the country’s deportation policy toward young illegal immigrants.

The girl was with 15 other people believed to be in the country illegally who were traveling to the Midwest and northeast United States, said Chris Hegstrom, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

“She’s been turned over to ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to try to determine where she’s from. She told us she’s from El Salvador. That’s what she told us,” he said.

The arrest took place Friday night at an undisclosed location in northern Maricopa County.

And while the thought of a six year old child having the cuffs slapped on her by a renegade sheriff in our country is troubling enough, the next part seems even more troubling. This is the part that seems to have gone unnoticed by many, including on the left:

“It was part of a human-smuggling investigation that we’ve been investigating throughout the Valley,” Hegstrom said.

Now there are many forms of human smuggling, including trying to get someone into a new nation. But regardless of the fact if her parents wanted her to come here for a better life or if she was being brought here for something far more sinister, one thing is for certain; at the age of six this child is a victim. She is not of age to make the kind of decision she has been arrested for and a racist, redneck sheriff, who is an absolute insult to the very foundations of our country, is the one who should be in cuffs.

Perhaps the next one we should see in cuffs is none other than Sheriff Joe. That would be a big step in the right direction.
