The London Times
released another classified British document today. Five weeks after the now
famous Downing Street Memo broke in the London Times, a new document shows even
more evidence that Bush had plans of removing Saddam from power in 2002. The
document, dated July 2002, has interesting points such as:

The US Government’s military planning for action against
Iraq is proceeding apace. But, as yet, it lacks a political framework. In
particular, little thought has been given to creating the political conditions
for military action, or the aftermath and how to shape it.

Well they created the political conditions, or at
least tried to when the U.N. passed resolution 1441. The problem is they strayed
away from the U.N. after that and decided to go it alone. Since then the U.N.
has been dubbed as “ineffective”.

Another point of interest I found in the document was:

Although no political decisions have been taken, US
military planners have drafted options for the US Government to undertake an
invasion of Iraq. In a ‘Running Start’, military action could begin as early as
November of this year

had an interesting article talking about a massive offensive our forces, along
with British forces were conducting in November 2002, one month after the
President got his support from Congress to go to war and before U.N. resolution
1441.

It was a huge air assault: Approximately 100 US and British planes flew from
Kuwait into Iraqi airspace. At least seven types of aircraft were part of this
massive operation, including US F-15 Strike Eagles and Royal Air Force Tornado
ground-attack planes. They dropped precision-guided munitions on Saddam
Hussein’s major western air-defense facility, clearing the path for Special
Forces helicopters that lay in wait in Jordan. Earlier attacks had been carried
out against Iraqi command and control centers, radar detection systems,
Revolutionary Guard units, communication centers and mobile air-defense systems.
The Pentagon’s goal was clear: Destroy Iraq’s ability to resist. This was war

The administration defended this as a violation of the
“no-fly” zone, but it was obviously a preparation for our invasion of Iraq.

This week marks the start of what can only be
envisioned as the :beginning of the end”.
Rep. John Conyers, on Thursday will start hearings into the evidence that
Bush had planned to go to war regardless. This will be the shining of light into
what is becoming a dark hole in American history. I strongly hope this starts to
bring justice to the people of America, of Iraq, and of the world as to many
questions are left unanswered about the President’s true intentions with Iraq.
