Chris Shays has already proven once this week what an inconsiderate shill he is when he defended Hastert’s inactions in the Foley scandal by saying “at least no one died” (note to child predators – you got a U.S. Congressman saying it is alright to prey as long as you don’t kill), comparing the incident to Ted Kennedy’s accident in 1969. Now he has hit another low – this time defending Abu Gharib as just “pornography”:

Republican Rep. Christopher Shays said Friday the Abu Ghraib prison abuses were more about pornography than torture.

The congressman, who is in a tough re-election fight, said a National Guard unit was primarily responsible for the abuses.

“It was a National Guard unit run amok,” Shays said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. “It was torture because sex abuse is torture. It was gross and despicable … This is more about pornography than torture.”

If people beaten, covered with human feces and all the other horrible forms of physical violence shown in the pictures from Abu Gharib is “porn” then Christopher Shays needs serious mental help. Is he starting to show signs of being another closeted Republican? No I don’t mean gay – I mean one with some serious sexual fetish. First he defends a cover-up of a child predator because “no one died” and then calls that stuff from Abu Gharib “porn”! These Republicans start losing control and then the truth comes out. We now see how Shays really thinks.
